Swan House

Built in 1928 for an affluent Atlanta family, the Swan House has only grown in reputation and beauty over the years. With a rich history in cotton, as well as hands in transportation, real estate, and other areas of Atlanta economics, the Swan House and its history made it a prime catch for the Atlanta Historical Society back in 1966.

You might recognize the house as the film setting in many blockbuster movies including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013, and others. The strikingly elegant exterior, of Revivalist architecture, gallantly holds the eye as you approach through the extensive lush estate grounds. The house was fully renovated in 2004 in a multi-million dollar endeavor and was restored to its original glory, complete with period furnishings.

Today, the house and grounds are open for touring and learning, experiencing the beauty and elegance of this Roaring Twenties phenomenon. There are open house experiences available every day of the week, excluding holidays, and tickets are offered through the Atlanta Historical Society. You may also take part in the Capitol Tour or have a self-guided tour of the house, learning about life in Atlanta, the economics of the age, the opulence of architectural fashion, and much more.
