Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum
Welcome to the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, the highly unique antique carousel museum located in North Tonawanda, between Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
The museum is located within a historic carousel factory that was constructed between 1910 and 1915 and consists of 6 primary structures and 5 contributory additions. During your visit, you can actually ride 2 antique carousels within the old factory and view the production of music rolls, which were used to provide accompanying festive music to the carousel rides.
Younger children visiting will want to save plenty of time to explore the rides within KiddieLand, meant for kids between 34 and 52 inches. Ride cars, pony carts, wet boats, and the Kiddie Carousel in this section. Older guests will want to consider a guided tour during their visit, a 1-hour exploration of the museum that ends with a ride on the 1916 #1 Special Carousel. The tour will provide information on the Allan Herschell Company, the most prolific maker of carousels in history. You will also learn about the Wurlitzer Music Roll Department and view the production of paper music rolls today.
