Heartland of America Park
Spend a relaxing afternoon people watching, walking, or learning within the Heartland of America Park, the most popular public park and social gathering spot in Omaha.
Located downtown just right across the street from Old Market your group will find this 31-acre park, the biggest highlights within being the lake it sits on, the various Lewis and Clark exhibit, and of course, the Heartland of America Fountain. This popular fountain sprays water jets high into the air and puts on a dazzling light show display, the 320 ft attraction putting on shows each night from 8 pm to 11 pm (Spring to Fall).
While exploring the park one of the most prominent things you will encounter, as mentioned above, is the various tidbits of Lewis and Clark information and insight. This land serves as the site of Lewis and Clark exploration in 1804 and even possibly the home to the much talked about Otoe Village, though that is only speculation at this point. Visit the various Lewis and Clark interactive exhibits, the Lewis and Clark Landing, and the several other historic landmarks within the park such as the WWII and Airborne Memorial Sculptures.
There is even a Heartland Gondola ride, paths to hike, and a tour boat operating in the summer!
