'Rich in both regional history and flora and fauna', Deerfield Island Park is one of the most well-kept attraction 'secrets' in Fort Lauderdale, this hidden gem consisting of about 55 acres of pristine Florida nature.
Deerfield Island is only accessible by boat, with 5-minute rides from Sullivan Park available regularly. Travel across the Intracoastal highway to the island and enjoy access to a marina, boat dock, camping sites, playgrounds, and an impressive nature trail. There is even a butterfly garden within the park! Along the nature trail, and throughout the park in general, you will see several critters well-known to this area, such as various local birds and lizards.
We suggest your group packs a picnic lunch to enjoy over here at the park, or consider having lunch at the American Rock Bar and Grill right across Hillsboro Boulevard before or after your visit.
