Welcome to Boys Town, otherwise known as Father Flanagan's Boys' Home, the National Historic Landmark District located just 15 minutes west of downtown Omaha. This community is dedicated to 'the care, treatment, and education of at-risk children'. During a visit to the town, your group will be able to visit the founding fathers home, various insightful museums, and the schools, churches, and homes of the residents who have taken advantage of the program.
Father Flanagan purchased Overlook Farm in 1921, dedicating the land to a spot where children can 'live, work, play, and pray.' The program has changed thousands of young lives in its time, and a visit here will help your group understand int's impact and give you a good glimpse into its history.
Opt-in for a tour while here, with several different options including the basic daily tours (every day at 10 am and 2 pm with the starting point in the Visitor Center), Interactive Smart Phone Tour, Step-On Guided Tour, and Omaha City Tour. During these tours, your group will see the Hall of History, Visitor Center, Myers Stamp Center, Gift Shop, David and CHambers Chapels, Garden of the Bible, and of course, Flannagan House.
