Bonnet House Museum & Gardens
Welcome to Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, a historic Fort Lauderdale property that sits on 35 gorgeously gardened acres along Birch Road.
This 1920's-era plantation home features lush gardens, an artsy interior, and plenty of local history throughout, the property a member of both the American Alliance of Museums and National Register of Historic Places. The house is named such after Bonnet Lily, Chicago artist Frederic Bartlett's 2nd wife. Frederic was given the home by his first wife, Evelyn Bartlett's, father. After she passed and Frederic remarried he spent his time in the home decorating and enriching it with Lily.
Take a tour of the home and see the 'extraordinary blend of art, history, and nature' within that the couple created. The home has a high historical and artistic significance and the grounds are actually considered to be one of the last examples of Southern Florida native barrier island habitat, the entire property holding 5 distinctly different ecosystems within, from wetland to dunes.
