Oldest Wooden School House
Over 200 years ago a schoolmaster and his wife lived above one small co-ed classroom that was built from red cedar and bald cypress with hand turned nails and wooden pins.
Today, your travel group can still find this structure near the city gate. Now anchored by a chain in case of a hurricane, the quaint school house is more than a relic, it is a time machine that transports your group back to the Florida that was ruled by Imperial Spain.
The gardens behind the house feature exhibit on the separate school kitchen, a well and an outhouse which you must see before you head for the gift shop.
