Where to Stay, Play, and Eat in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is most popular for three things: good food, great golfing, and gratifying group travel experiences!

There is far more to do outside of those three popular things, however, which is exactly what this blog is all about: the broad spectrum budget-wise of where to Stay, Play, and Eat in Myrtle Beach, one of the most entertaining and beautiful beachside spots in the nation.

Stay:

Ocean Reef Resort - Visiting Myrtle Beach on a budget? This is the perfect option for you! Ocean Reef Resort provides guests with a kids' club, several dining options, a waterpark, and beachside views, all for under $100! ($)

Hampton Inn Myrtle Beach Boardwalk - A bit more upscale but still the same amenities, the Hampton Inn provides modern suites, several pools, great views, and of course, free wifi. ($$)

Anderson Ocean Club and Spa - The Anderson Ocean Club and Spa is right on par with the Hampton Inn as far as price goes, but it offers waterfront condos, mini golf, and a lazy river as well. This is a great mix of adult and kid entertainment.  ($$)

Ocean Watch Villas at Grand Dunes - If you want to really live in luxury while here then certainly go for the Ocean Watch Villas at Grand Dunes, a popular lodging choice for upscale suites and first class Myrtle Beach views. The suites even come with full kitchen and other home-like amenities. ($$$)

Play:

Myrtle Beach State Park - The best kind of attraction during travel? A free (and of course, fun) attraction, which is what you will find with a visit to the Myrtle Beach State Park. Explore several miles of forest and coast of the Atlantic Ocean, the park seemingly untouched by time since 1935, when it was first established. (Free)

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade - The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade are free to enter and walk around, though there are a few attractions and stores along the way that you may want to spend a little in. The Gay Dolphin Gift Cove is one of the largest on the East Coast! (Free - $$)

Skywheel - Within the Boardwalk and Promenade is one of the most entertaining attractions in Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Skywheel. 200 feet above sea level with the greatest views of the Grand Strand, this is a must-stop while visiting! ($)

Family Kingdom Amusement Park - For a day full of thrills visit the Family Kingdom Amusement Park, one of the best places to Twist and Shout on the popular coasters and Slip and Slide within the water park! ($$)

Hollywood Wax Museum - Within Broadway at the Beach (below) you will find the Hollywood Wax Museum, another very popular attraction that allows guests to hang out with the stars, get lost in a mirror maze, and even try to break out of a zombie-infested lab. ($$)

Broadway at the Beach - Our personal all-time favorite thing to do while in Myrtle Beach is Broadway at the Beach, a sprawling entertainment center with over 350 acres of indoor and outdoor fun. Countless attractions, over 20 dining options, and several nightlife/festival opportunities await, not to mention the great Ripley's locations throughout. Everyone in your group can find something they like here! ($-$$$)

Eat:

Big Mike's Soul Food - Down home southern classics and heapin' helpins will greet you at one of the most popular and one of the most affordable spots in Myrtle Beach, Big Mike's Soul Food. Try the fried chicken or Big Mike's Burger, you won't be disappointed. ($)

Mellow Mushroom Myrtle Beach - This popular chain eatery will provide your group with affordable and really delicious pizza and calzones, the art-filled and 'funky' chain making stone-baked pizza the right way. ($-$$)

Seafood Market

Carolina Roadhouse - A casual lodge-type atmosphere is what your group will encounter at this eatery option, Carlina Roadhouse serving excellent American classics we know your group will love.  ($$)

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse - A more upscale choice for your group, Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse has a massive salad bar, excellent cocktails, and the tastiest tableside-carved meats. ($$$)
