Bleisure Travel is undoubtedly one of the quickest growing travel trends, this new trend blending business travel with, you guessed it, leisure travel.
Bleisure travel boosts morale within companies, helps save on vacation costs, and creates a better work-life balance for travelers. While you may think that since it is new, it must be a mostly Millenial trend, there are actually plenty of people in the workforce taking part.
"90 percent of Millennials have engaged in bleisure travel in the past year, compared with 81 percent of Generation Xers and 80 percent of Baby Boomers" - State of Business Travel Survey, National Car Rental (see video below)
Bleisure travelers, as mentioned before, are much more likely to be satisfied with their work-life balance, with 87% vs 64% according to National Car Rental. This means that both the employer and the employee benefit from taking these trips, especially if teambuilding activities, business meetings, and networking dinners are taken advantage of while away.
Location-wise, Bleisure travel can happen almost anywhere. Usually, the location is already set based on an impending business meeting or conference you are attending, but sometimes the employer, and maybe even employees, get to choose where they would like to go. In that case, there are certainly locations across America that we feel are better than others, whether due to the local business atmosphere, companies in that particular city, dining and/or nightlife scene, group-friendly venues, etc.
