Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course
Go Ape Freedom Park in Williamsburg is one of the biggest parks of its kind with heart-pounding heights, daring zip lines, and entertaining attractions. The featured Treetop Adventure Course is the park’s premier course and an exciting way to see the beautiful Virginian landscape.
Suitable for ages ten and up, the Treetop Adventure Course features several rope ladders, 37 new crossings including Trapeze, Wobbly Ladder, and Spider’s Web, two Tarzan swings, and five zip lines. There are five individual sections of the course designed to give you the best experience possible. The last section of the course includes the final zip line and the most daring of them all, a 600-foot ride through the forest.
Other courses for younger children are available though that’s not all the park has to offer. With two miles of hiking trails, over 20 miles of mountain biking trails, and historic sites including the site of an 18th-century cemetery, Freedom Park is every bit an outdoor entertainment arena. Check out the recreated cabins of one of the nation’s first Free Black Settlements and more on the property.
Upon arrival, you and your group will be given a 30-minute safety briefing but then you’ll be let loose in the park on your own. Be careful but have fun. If you need help, instructors regularly patrol the areas to be of assistance. Since it’s a physical activity, wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and drink lots of water to keep hydrated.
