Key West Shipwreck Treasure Museum
One of the most exciting attractions in Key West, the Shipwreck Treasure Museum explores centuries of discoveries and treasure!
Your group will be welcomed to discover history and lore from a combined archive of true artifacts, movie props, films, and more. This is a truly unique look at maritime history, on an island where wreckers profited and ships fell tragically to the treacherous shores!
Key West, in the 19th century, became the richest city in the country for its profitable business of taking valuables from unfortunate ships which wrecked off the coasts. Here at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, you'll follow in the footsteps of master wrecker Asa Tift as you travel through history and view a multitude of artifacts from the Observation Tower (pictured) to the objects taken from the Isaac Allerton, the richest shipwreck in Key West history.
Open 9:40 am to 5 pm, 365 days a year, stop by and take a self-guided tour of the shipwrecks! Your group will want to spend as long as possible at this intensely interesting history museum in beautiful Key West!
