Lockport Cave and Niagara Zipper
The Lockport Cave is one of Lockport's most popular attractions, and the Niagara Zipper is one of it's newest and most thrilling!
The Lockport Cave attraction features a 75 minute guided tour that will teach you all about the historic yet newly renovated 'Flight of Five', Locks 67-71. These locks were originally built in 1838 and still to this day hold an impressive amount of infrastructural innovation. Learn all about these locks, see ruins from the industrial revolution, walk the 1600 foot Hydraulic Tunnel blasted out of the rock, view stalactites and other geological formations, and artifacts from the men who built this cave in the 19th century.
During the tour, you will experience a one-of-a-kind underground boat ride, one of America's longest rides of its kind. The ride has been described as 'peaceful and eerie', as you glide through the dimly lit lifeless water. At this point, you will also experience locks 34 and 35, which travel uphill 60 feet through the Niagara Escarpment.
After you've finished this tour we highly suggest you add on the unforgettable family-friendly adventure experience of the Niagara Zipper, the newest Lockport attraction that allows you to zip across the Erie Canal. These 4 lines range from 500 to 900 feet in length and are considered to be the first ziplines crossing a US navigable waterway!
