Kansas City Power & Light District
World-class dining, award-winning entertainment, and luxurious services to guests, visitors and residents.
Welcome to the Kansas City Power & Light District, or just P&L for short. This dining, shopping, office, and entertainment district allows you to experience a 'reborn downtown Kansas City' in a dynamic, nine-block neighborhood. Within the community, you will find local entertainment landmarks, a variety of local and regional restaurants, and several different entertainment venues and nightlife opportunities.
The Power and Light District was first established in 2008 by the Cordish Company of Baltimore, Maryland. It cost $850 million, but is now considered to be 'one of the largest and most exciting development projects in the Midwest.' Over 95 million guests have visited in the last decade!
While here you will see the Sprint Center, Kauffman Center, Crossroads Arts District, KC Live!, The Midland, One Light Luxury Apartments, the Alamo Drafthouse Theater, PBR Big Sky, and No Other Pub. The last two mentioned are excellent spots to enjoy a sports game, grab some delicious bar food, and spend the night drinking and enjoying the company of others. There are several more dining options here in P&L worth mentioning, such as the Yard House, McFadden's, Insomnia Cookies, and Guy Fieri's Dive Taco Joint.
