Joslyn Castle

Joslyn Castle

Welcome to the premier historic landmark of Omaha, Joslyn Castle. This 6 acre Scottish Baronial style mansion was the home of locally prominent George and Sarah Joslyn, the residence first built in 1903. The landmark sits along Omaha's Gold Coast, right in the heart of midtown.

Designated a spot on the National Register of Historic Places and official local landmark list, this site will offer your group extremely insightful information on Omaha's local culture and history. Learn about the architect behind the home, the then famous prominent John McDonald, the owners of the home, the home's history as the first Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, and even tidbits about local life in general. The main focus of Joslyn Castle is to 'educate and enhance the cultural aspects of the Omaha community'.

There are several special events and tours offered here, public tours offered the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm, and private tours of 20 or more guests available on weekdays by appointment. The tour will show you the main floor, second and third floor, and parts of the grounds and is best suited for school-aged children.
