Harry Potter History Hits New York

Muggles, Wizard Wannabes, and Magical Harry Potter Fans, it's finally happening, New York is finally getting the famed London History of Magic exhibit!

Harry Potter: A History of Magic made its big debut at the British Library in London first, but this October it is coming the Big Apple! The New York Historical Society will host this popular exhibit October 5th, 2018 through January 27th, 2019. During this magical time frame you can see the entire history of the franchise, with notes and drafts from JK Rowling and original artwork from Jim Kay. This is the most comprehensive Harry Potter collection and the attendance is expected to be extremely high for the event throughout its entirety.

 A History of Magic combines century-old treasures including rare books, manuscripts, and magical objects from the collections of the British Library and New-York Historical Society—with original material from Harry Potter publisher Scholastic and J.K. Members of the New York Historical Society will get in for free, and nonmembers will get in for $21 ($16 for teens, $13 for school groups, $6 for children, free for children under 4). Tickets are available in April 2018 for nonmembers, Februrary 2018 for members.

2018 is also the 20th Anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, a huge milestone in the history of the most popular fiction and film franchise of it's kind!
