Welcome to the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, the old-fashioned waterfront amusement area with rides for all ages, plus boardwalk-typical games and foods.

This 'waterfront fun and entertainment center' provides an experience like no other Gulf Coast destination, boasting a rollercoaster, 17 rides, carnival games, and gift shops all on the water. It is 'one of the few spots in the world that has this many rides over the water', with high flying thrillers like the Texas Star Flyer, Iron Shark Coaster, Pirates Plunge, Gulf Glider, Galaxy Wheel, and many more shooting you over the tip of the boardwalk and back.

Walk along the pier and you will also find Midway game classics like Ring Toss and Guess Your Weight, plus modern additions like the 5D Theater Ride, which is located just right across the street from the main pier. Stop for a bite to eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, or maybe Big Top Bites or Carousel Court Sweets. The entire pier offers 'everything from world-famous shrimp to more traditional choices like burgers, pizza, and sweet treats'.

There are special packages available for field trip groups and school groups who wish to visit the pier, and if your group happens to be a performance group you are in for an extra special treat with the Performance on the Pier option. Bands, choirs, and dance groups can all show off what they've got on Stage 25 here, an excellent opportunity to practice their talent in front of a live audience.
