Maryland Science Center
If you happen to be in Baltimore's exciting Inner Harbor, stop by the Maryland Science Center with your group for a thrillingly interactive yet educational experience! Although the museum is set right on the water with beautiful vistas, you'll have a hard time tearing your gaze away from the amazing hands-on exhibits. From dinosaurs to space travel, the smallest of cells to whole planets, the Maryland Science Center is like a textbook come to life!
Within these walls, find yourself face to face with giant dinosaur replicas, extraordinary science experiments created by you and your team, and so much more. In the SciLab you become the scientist and don the lab coats, mixing ingredients and testing hypotheses. In Newton's Alley, explore the findings and experiments of one of the most famous scientists, Sir Isaac Newton. Connect with both space and the earth at the TerraLink and SpaceLink exhibits or visit the Planetarium to see for yourself. There's also an IMAX theater on campus where your group can see informative and innovative 3D films on a number of subjects ranging from beavers to Mount Everest, the history of ancient Greece, humpback whales, or Lewis and Clark's adventure west.
The Maryland Science Center offers live Science Encounters for visitors to enjoy. You can witness live hair raising experiments on the Demonstration Stage, view global changes on a three-dimensional sphere at Science on a Sphere, and see the night sky in all its glory on the rooftop Observatory. The Observatory has a computer controlled telescope that allows guests to observe the planets, the stars, and other astronomical events as part of the experience.
