Museum of Arts and Sciences
While in Daytona be sure to save time to stop at the ‘primary art, science, and history museum in Central Florida’, the Museum of Arts and Sciences (MOAS). This museum is both a member of the American Alliance of Museums and a proud Smithsonian affiliate, a long-standing local learning center that consistently receives praise for its various exhibits representing over 30,000 different objects.
The museum is located on a 90-acre nature preserve, the building alone considered to be the area’s largest museum. Within the walls, you will find several differently themed galleries, each one providing a learning adventure of its own. Explore the Cuban Foundation Museum, Prehistoric Florida Gallery, Dow Gallery of American Art, Bouchelle Collection, or the Root Family Museum. The latter gallery is a more unique display of vintage automobiles, railroad cars, and even historic Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Save plenty of time to plan a gallery tour, see a stage show, take part in a hands-on class, or even see a planetarium show at the onsite Planetarium. There is a gift shop to pick up all those essential toys and learning materials before you go as well as an onsite Museum Cafe to utilize when your group gets hungry.
