Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory
Since 1925, Angell & Phelps has provided handmade gourmet chocolates to the drooling masses. Prior to the invention of air conditioning, the company started in Mackinac Island, Michigan where it intended to reside until WWII. As with many businesses the war negatively impacted revenue, but their ultimate move to Florida brought prosperity and new customers. Now, they offer what could be the tastiest free tour in the Sunshine State!
Your group can expect to find all of their traditional favorites like praline, chocolate, and peanut butter fudge, but these stand shoulder to shoulder with modern contestants such as watermelon, Gummy Bear and orange creamsicle fudges! Sugar-free varieties are friendly with the glucose-conscious persons, which means there’s no excuse for the entire team to not treat themselves to chocolate-coated paradise! No matter your diet plan, you will love the intricate designs molded into quirky alligators, white chocolate conch shells, golf equipment, tool and hairdresser kits, roses, seagulls, sharks, turtles, palm trees, dolphins and more!
The staff at Angell & Phelps has taken it upon themselves to transform your snacking into an experience with chocolate-covered potato chips, pretzels, caramel popcorn, and bacon! Enjoy peanut or pecan brittle, sponge candy, pecan pralines, Bavarian-style cashews and pecans, saltwater taffy, party mints, jelly beans, sour lobsters and then some!
Tours are held Monday through Saturday at 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm, located on sunny Beach Street. These tours last approximately 20 minutes and are wheelchair and stroller accessible for your convenience.
