If you are looking for an artsy adventure while in Colorado Springs then look no further than the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College, the highly popular historic cultural center holding a renowned American art collection, performance theater, and art classes!
What began as the Broadmoor Art Academy in 1919 has turned into a 100-year-old staple cultural center for both Colorado College and the city of Colorado Springs, this center offering exhibits, working studios, classes, and regular performances for the public to enjoy.
The permanent collection holds such big names as O'Keeffe and Chihuly and it sits alongside the highly popular Southwest Collection, which showcases the 'rich history and vibrant contemporary cultures of the Southwest and the Americas', including Native American art, Hispanic art, Spanish Colonial Art, and 20th Century American art. You will also be able to see major international traveling exhibits, with 15 galleries open total.
Before you go check to see if there are any performances happening, the onsite theater consistently putting on award-winning and critically acclaimed musicals, comedies, and dramas.
NOTE* There is an onsite eatery on the weekends, Taste, as well as a Museum Art Shop.
