Cleveland Museum of Art
Prepare to be immersed in an interactive and mind-opening world of art at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Located conveniently in the University Circle and Fine Arts Garden District, this museum is one of the world’s most distinguished and comprehensive art museums as well as one of northeastern Ohio’s principal civic and cultural institutions. Striving to serve to the “benefit of all the people forever” while providing a facility in which guests can understand and engage great art while honoring the aesthetic and intellectual standards is what has made this museum so great.
The neoclassic building made of white Georgian marble was created in 1916 and houses over 45,000 permanent works of art. The building features the comprehensive Ingalls Library as well as an impressive collection of Asian and Egyptian art. Your group will be able to choose from a general walking tour of the museum, specific gallery tours, the Look and Discover class tour, or the quick Art Bites tours. Art Bites tours take 30 minutes or less and are inspired by popular literature or media. Currently, you can choose from ‘Arrested Museum’, an Arrested Development themed tour, or Sherlock, the English detective themed tour. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the Collection Wall, the largest multi-touch screen in the U.S., a 40-foot micro-tile screen that features 40,000 works from the museum and changes every 40 seconds! Whatever you decide to discover while you are here, it’s guaranteed that the art lovers in your group will not be disappointed with this opportunity!
