Welcome to Forest Park, the widely popular 1,371-acre public park in western St. Louis that serves as a prominent civic center and public meeting space. This urban park holds four different museums, a zoo, several athletic fields, and even a golf course. Forest Park is known as one of the most beautiful urban parks in the world, home to over 13 million visitors per year. Perhaps the most popular thing about this park is the number of different anticipated annual events held here, from massive music festivals to hot air balloon races! It will be easy to see why Travel + Leisure has named this park "one of the coolest city parks and one of the world’s most beautiful urban parks." More recently Forest Park has become even more popular, if possible, for their new sustainability initiatives, a project to restore, maintain, and sustain the treasure that is St. Louis’ most beloved park.
In 1904 Forest Park hosted the World’s Fair and spread its claim for fame as a popular city park meant for all citizens. This park quickly became the sixth most visited park in the United States, a host to institutions that challenge the mind and a popular Dual Path System that challenges the body, great for leisurely strolls and/or intense workouts.
