Best in Town

Duke's Waikiki

Duke's Waikiki is absolutely one of the best choices for grabbing a bite to eat with your kiddos, this local favorite serving up some seriously delicious foods we know your kids are going to love in a seriously fun beachfront location we know they will love as well. Grab a grilled cheese, some fish and chips, or perhaps some macadamia nut breaded chicken tenders for your little one then a Huli Huli chicken or seven spice ahi and mai tai for yourself!

Helena's Hawaiian Food

Helena's has been a Honolulu staple since it first opened in 1946, this cash-only, no-frills eatery one of the most authentic and most delicious on the island! This is an excellent spot to take your kids to allow them to get a taste of local foods, plus the atmosphere is laid back and easy going, just like the beach! Short ribs, kalua pig, Lomi salmon, poke fish, beef stew...it's all fresh, it's all authentic, it's all good!

Kid Classics

Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha

Serving up what some consider to be the best of the best in Hawaii's most iconic snack food, shave ice, Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha is a must stop with your kids! Since 1996 this spot has been serving up all natural, homemade, handcrafted shaved ice, starting with pure Hawaiian water chilled, frozen, thawed, shaved, mixed with in-house syrups from natural fruit and cane sugar, and then devoured. Try the Rainbow Ice with strawberry, mango, and pineapple, or perhaps the Uji Kintoki with mochi, matcha, and azuki.

Big Kahuna's Pizza

Big Kahuna's Pizza n' Stuff is certainly one of our favorite local Honolulu choices for kiddos, this pizza joint serving up some of the best local specialties, pizza classics, and family traditions since 1993. Try classics such as the BBQ Chicken, Veggie, or kids-favorite Cheese, or perhaps go more local and try the Bonzai Pizza with teriyaki chicken or the always controversial Haole pizza with ham and pineapple. Oh, and there is absolutely no way you can leave without trying the garlic cheese balls.

Cheeseburger Waikiki

This local Cheeseburger in Paradise spot allows you as a parent to sit back, enjoy some greasy burger goodness, sip on a strong Maui Thyme Lemonade, and let your kids enjoy a food we know they all love: CHEESEBURGERS. From classic Americana burger styles to island-inspired creations, there is undoubtedly something for even the pickiest of eaters here. Try the Bacon and Apple (Brie) burger, Loco Moco local classic, or the super-tasty Cheeseburger tacos!

Just Desserts

Leonard's Bakery

If your children are donut and/or pastry lovers of any kind we simply can't let you leave the islands without coming to Leonard's Bakery. Leonard's has been here since 1952, creating a major name for itself for one item in particular: malasadas. Malasadas are a Portuguese tradition that caught fire here in Hawaii, the little yeast dough creations deep fried and sprinkled with sugar. Donuts, cookies, pies, turnovers....if you have a sweet tooth and crave something a bit more traditional, Leonard's is the place to go!

Island Vintage Shave Ice

For something refreshing, unique, and super delicious you have to head to Island Vintage Shave Ice (Island Vintage Coffee) in Honolulu. This highly popular walk-up shack near the Royal Hawaiian will offer your kiddos some of the best shave ice bowls, smoothies, bubble teas, or ice cream. We are talking about the freshest of the fresh ingredients and presentation here!

Kids Eat Free

Gyotakyo - Monday & Tuesday Evenings

Gyotakyo is 'Hawaii's favorite Japanese Restaurant', a cultural cuisine conflux of Hawaiian island flavors and classic Japanese dishes. While this may not sound like the most kid-friendly option at first, once you get inside and see the menu you will understand: Gyotakyo offers a really fun kids menu and the chance for kids to eat free every Monday and Tuesday with the purchase of one parent meal. Kids can try the teriyaki chicken, tempura, chicken katsu, or hamburger steak, each option coming with their choice of local ice cream or shave ice as well.

Wahoo's Fish Taco - Tuesdays 5:30 - 9

Wahoo's Fish Taco is a small chain with various locations scattered about the U.S, this location in particular known for its extremely fresh ingredient options. Your keikis (kids) will have the choice between a kids bowl, mini quesadilla, or black bean and cheese burrito, and you can chow down on your own adult Bonzai bowl, Maui onion rings, or loaded nachos.

Auntie Pasto's - Tuesday & Wednesday Evenings

You will find all your children's favorite Italian dishes here, from spaghetti and meatballs to fresh cheese pizza, and you may even find them for free if you happen upon this eatery on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. Did we mention the great happy hour options daily, as well, parents?
