Anne Kolb Nature Center
Welcome to the Anne Kolb Nature Center, the popular 1500 acre nature reserve that was first opened in 1996. The center is located just about 20 minutes south of Fort Lauderdale in Broward County (Hollywood), but it definitely worth the short drive!
Within what is considered to be the largest regional park in the area, Anne Kolb Nature Center provides guests with a myriad of different nature-related activities, with an onsite outdoor amphitheater, various trails, boat tours, an exhibit hall, public art displays, a 68-foot observation tower, and even a 3500-gallon aquarium. The trails include a fishing trail, Mudflat Trail, South Trail, and Lake Trail, each taking you through a different part of this magnificent 'coastal mangrove wetland'. You will see several different local plants and animals along the way, such as crabs, iguanas, and various tropical fish and birds known to frequent the area.
Plan to save enough time to tour the nature center's exhibit hall, which includes the opportunity to watch a 10-minute informational video, view the aquarium, climb the observation tower, and walk a trail or two during your visit. If you have an extra 30 minutes opt-in to take the narrated boat tour, as well.
