Peterson Air and Space Museum
Welcome to the Peterson Air and Space Museum, the historic district and active duty the United States Air Force Base all in one. This establishment is considered to be Colorado's oldest aviation museum, first established in 1942. The museum is named such after 1st Lieutenant Edward J Peterson, a WWII Aircorps Pilot who tragically perished on the base in 1942. You will learn all about Peterson, as well as the aviation history of the Peterson Air Force Base in general, during your visit.
From our barnstormer beginnings in the Roaring Twenties, through the daring exploits of our World War II pilots and into the modern space era, our exhibits are sure to capture your attention. - PASM
Visit the 4 original airfield structures, which include the Terminal, Old City Hangar, Air Park, and Medal of Honor Park. Throughout these different structures, you will find actual aircraft and various exhibits that showcase jets and missiles. Be sure to visit the Museum Store on your way out, and note that if security levels are high, you may not be permitted to visit the museum/base.
