Beach Time at Manuel Antonio
Back at Manuel Antonio National Park, your group will find some of the best, most beautiful, and most unspoiled beaches in Costa Rica. These spectacular beaches lead into well-maintained trails, winding through the lowland rainforest along the Pacific Coast. Enjoy the overhanging palms along the coast, a truly refreshing break from the hotels, discos, and eateries surrounding the rest of the national park. Spend some time exploring the small tide pools full of rocks that hold sponges, corals, crabs, and hundreds of different tropical fish. Your group will have the chance to see over 350 species of birds, including the always-fishing brown pelicans and emerald Amazon. Keep your eyes open for iguanas, geckos, lizards, and frogs along the coast as well!
After exploring your surroundings and taking in all the diverse and spectacular wildlife your group can spend the afternoon soaking in the sun, splashing around the crystal clear waters, or sifting through the white sand. You may also choose other aquatic adventures such as deep sea fishing, day trips to Cano Island, snorkeling and scuba diving, white water rafting and kayaking, or surfing/surf kayaking. Learn the interesting history of Quepos and how logging, development, and tourism has changed its landscape forever. There are several different beaches to choose from, such as Playa Puerto Escondido, Playa Espadilla Sur, and Playa Manuel Antonio, each outfitted with personal fresh water showers and picnic tables for optimal comfort and fun! This is another great place to have encounters with monkeys as well, the surrounding coastal Machillo, beach almond, and coconut palm trees being home to many different species, particularly the white-faced monkey.
