Begin your Galveston adventure at the grandiose Bishop's Palace, one of the oldest and grandest historic homes in Galveston, built in 1892. A strikingly stunning construction done in the Victorian style, Bishop's Palace is as steeped in history as it is in beauty and is considered to be one of the best-preserved pieces of Victorian history. Inside this home, you will now find a wonderful museum showcasing the opulence of the era's way of life for wealthy families.
Galveston Harbor Tour & Dolphin Watching
Start your second day by boarding the Seagull II with your travel group and get a taste of Texan water-based folklore! Journey out into the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and experience a cruise both educational and entertaining. Expect a fascinating history lesson as well as wonderful up-close and personal encounters with curious dolphins and other marine life, industrious shrimp and fishing boats, and vocal, hungry seabirds on your sightseeing excursion.
Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum
The Ocean Star is a retired drilling rig that offers a fun, hands-on way to learn about the offshore oil and gas industry in a comfortable and accessible facility. The museum features three floors of models, exhibits, equipment, and interactive displays illustrating the story of offshore exploration and production.
La King's Confectionery
This ice cream parlor serves as a true throwback to the 1920s when 'folks came out to enjoy a treat and visit', providing a modern-day sweet treat hangout for locals and guests to Galveston alike. Inside you will find a candy counter that never seems to end, complete with an old-school candy maker offering traditional sweets like Peanut and Peco Brittle, Divinity, Pecan Pralines, Hand-Dipped Chocolates, Fudge, and their famous Salt Water Taffy.
Colonel Paddlewheel Cruise
Explore the Offatts Bayou with an hour-long weekend cruise in which you will 'live the high life', your group able to lavish in the ships plush carpeting, elegant draperies, colorful lighting, and uniformed staff who are ready to help you. Enjoy the open-air promenade or one of the two elegant dining rooms, the Texas and Galveston Rooms. When offered, the dinner cruises take place from 7 pm to 9 pm, boarding begins at 6 pm.
