Day One

Nelson Atkins Art Museum
Internationally recognized as 'one of the finest general art museums in the United States', the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art will surely not disappoint on your trek around Kansas City. This museum must-stop serves as one of the most recognizable local landmarks around the 'City of Fountains', the giant badminton birdie an iconic part of the city's landscape. Within the walls of this art and architecture giant, you will find over 40,000 works of art, the subjects ranging from ancient Chinese ceramics to modern paintings by some of the most widely recognized artists. See African, American, American Indian, Ancient, Architectural, Design, Decorative Arts, Chinese, Contemporary, European, Japanese, Modern, Southeast Asian, and Photography works, as well as the highly popular Donald J Hall Sculpture Park.

Harry S Truman Museum and Library
In the course of your visit, you will learn about Harry Truman’s presidential years and interesting facts about his life, one being that he actually lived in the Kansas City area during his childhood. The core exhibit at the museum is known as Truman The Presidential Years. The exhibition highlights the major issues and events that took place during his presidency. It consists of two decision theaters, enhanced audio and video programs, and new interactive elements.

Union Station
A former working train station that accommodated hundreds of thousands of passengers each year today sits as one of the most grandiose and most highly visited spots in all of Kansas City. When you visit Union Station, you will have the opportunity to check out an exhibit which is known as the KC Rail Experience. At the exhibit, you will take a hands-on journey through the fascinating history of the American railroad. Union Station also has a planetarium which is considered to be one of the largest planetariums in the Midwest. Shopping, dining, and additional entertainment options await as well, all you have to do is visit and explore!

Day Two

National WWI Museum and Monument
This location is dedicated to remembering, interpreting, and understanding the Great War and its enduring impact on the global community. The museum is located at the Liberty Memorial. The memorial is a beacon of freedom and also a symbol of courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and honors all those individuals who served in World War I.The National World War I Museum is home to one of the largest Great War collections in the world. There are more than 75,000 items in the collection. The objects in the collection range from simple objects that a soldier carried in the field to some rare treasures of national significance.

Worlds of Fun
Looking for some excitement in KC? Then head to Worlds of Fun, the local amusement park filled to the brim with thrilling rides and fun water slides.  There are rides and attractions for visitors of all ages to enjoy here, from high-speed adventures to relaxing family experiences. For thrill seekers, one of the rides you need to try is known as the Mamba. This ride is one of the longest, tallest, and fastest roller coasters in the world. The ride is a state-of-the-art scream machine. Guests will be taken up the first hill over 200 feet above the ground and then fly toward the earth at an astounding speed of 75 miles per hour. Another thrill ride is known as the Timber Wolf. In the course of the ride, riders will experience hairpin turns that lead to a unique 560-degree helix. It is a classic wooden roller coaster.
