Stone Mountain Park
It’s called the World’s Eighth Wonder, and you’ll love every part of this Atlanta treasure. Stone Mountain Park entertains almost four million visitors every year, making it Georgia’s most visited attraction. The appeal begins with more than three thousand acres of natural beauty and continues as the park offers its variety of outdoor activities, entertainment, and recreation.
First up, you’ll want to reach the summit for an incomparable view of the Atlanta skyline. You can travel to the top on the Summit Skyride, a favorite Stone Mountain attraction, then seek further thrills on Sky Hike, an adventure course through the treetops. If you can stand to be indoors here, you’ll love the 4-D theater for entertainment so thorough it’s definitely an adventure of its own. And then there’s Geyser Towers. This refreshing recent addition to Stone Mountain offers multiple levels of suspended rope bridges and net tunnels overlooking a geyser. You choose whether to play in or only observe the sporadic eruptions.
There’s still much more to discover at Stone Mountain Park, including the Ride The Ducks Adventure, Scenic Railroad, and Antebellum Plantation. Plus, you don’t want to miss the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision, an Atlanta tradition featuring state-of-the-art digital graphics. It is multi-dimensional magic on one of the world’s largest, natural outdoor screens – Stone Mountain.
