Key West's premiere marine wildlife viewing destination, the Key West Aquarium is the perfect stop for groups of all ages. Out in the ocean you might spot a few colorful fish and funny sea turtles but you're not likely to see all the variety of the deep blue sea like you will at Key West Aquarium!
Though the museum is on the smaller scale, you'll want to spend all afternoon exploring the various exhibits and touch pools of native Florida marine life and more! Stop by the Alligator exhibit and learn all about this once endangered species which benefited from stringent conservation projects, or the Jellyfish exhibit to see the floating jellies. The Atlantic Shores exhibit showcases tropical and game fish, sharks, sea turtles, and a live mangrove ecosystem which are evident around much of Southern Florida and the Keys.
The Key West Aquarium supports many educational programs and demonstrations such as Interactive Feedings where trained guides will lead a group through the exhibit and allow them to feed the animals up close. You can also participate in the Sea Turtles Conservation Tour and learn about the aquarium's projects to preserve and protect the species. If you don't want to take a designated tour, stop by the Touch Tank and get up close and personal with underwater sea creatures like giant hermit crabs, conchs, sea stars, sea cucumbers, and more.
