Mission Beach
The biggest attraction in San Diego for travel groups is beautiful Mission Beach. Think of it as a west coast Coney Island. With its 1920s flavored Giant Dipper beachfront roller coaster alongside the endless games of volleyball down on the sand, it is the place to be! Team members looking to stay closer to the ground will appreciate the artificial wave machine at The Wave House, a merry-go-round, bumper boats and an arcade area at Belmont Park! Featured attractions also include whale watching May through November for giant blue and finback whales, or December through April for the migration of the California Gray Whale!
The boardwalk is a high traffic area for those afoot or on wheels and travel members are invited to rent equipment right by the boardwalk. If saltwater isn’t appealing at the shore you are welcome to an Olympic-sized pool nearby as well! Fishing off the Mission Bay jetty is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, but when you get hungry, just two blocks east of Mission Beach you’ll find all the tantalizing chow desired on Mission Boulevard! Whether your taste buds tell you its hot dog time or fine dining o’clock, you’re covered!
What you might not know yet is just half a mile off the coast of South Mission Beach Park. Beneath the surface of the water lies a bevy of shipwrecks, but why?
