New Cultural and Recreational Complex in the Ozark Mountains

One of Missouri's greatest nature hideaways is getting a massive update this June.

Big Cedar Lodge in the Ozark Mountains will be opening a complex called Top of the Rock that features restaurants, golf, a spa, chapel, and natural history museum.

The Lost Canyon Nature Trail and Cave will take you through a two-and-a-half-mile cart ride leading to a four-story waterfall. After leaving the cave, stroll over to the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, featuring carbon-dated skeletons of extinct Missouri creatures and several rooms of Native American and Civil War artifacts.

If you're more interested in relaxation than natural history, check out the golf course designed by famed golfers Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson, which will be home to the annual PGA Champions Tour Big Cedar Lodge Legends of Golf Tournament.

For a food break, try the wide variety of dining options: Arnie’s Barn, a Mexican restaurant, is a refurbished wooden barn that was disassembled by hand in Pennsylvania. The Osage restaurant serves up American-style cuisine along with a wine cellar and whiskey, cigar and Cognac rooms.
