Children’s Museum of South Carolina

If you have small children with you on your journey to Myrtle Beach then you should make this stop a priority, the Children's Museum of South Carolina is one of the most educationally interactive spots for youngsters in the area. Within the small yet mighty museum, you will find various interactive exhibits and programs for kids, with everything from a hurricane simulator to gem mining. ‘Touch, explore, and play’ is the motto this museum goes by, and it’s exactly what your kids will get to do while here!

This museum was opened in 1994 here along Oak Street, a strong commitment to education and fun upheld since then. There has been much community and school involvement since opening, this spot a staple for thousands of guests annually for field trips and educational outings. Childcare groups, churches, camps, and of course, school groups are always warmly welcomed here, most of the exhibits set in tune with South Carolina’s Scientific Achievement Standards.

Typically the age group most suited for this spot is Pre-K to 5th grade, though older kids will still find something fun to do within, the entire spot an ‘interactive playground for the mind’. Catch an informational weather show, dig up some dinosaur fossils, observe an electrical circuit at work, or just work on your spelling skills, whatever you decide to do here will be both educational and entertaining.
