Fried fish tacos, pina coladas, and plenty of sand...that’s exactly what you’ll find if you visit one of our absolute favorite eateries in Tulum, the Taqueria La Eufemia. This sandy beach hotspot is one of the least expensive places to eat around Tulum, yet, in our opinion, it is still one of the highest quality. This is the spot that you will find walking along the white sand beach near the main road of Tulum, an easily accessible (from any direction) and highly laid back spot to spend your afternoon or evening. As one past traveler (Erin A) said so well, ‘come for the tacos, stay for the people’.
Taqueria La Eufemia serves breakfast, lunch, and seriously delicious cocktails, each thing made from fresh and local ingredients. The food is typical Mexican style food, and by that we mean it is authentic, full of seafood, and packed with Caribbean spices. Some people claim that this ‘chic taco boutique’ actually has the very best fish tacos in the entire city, maybe even the state of QROO! The passionfruit margaritas are also a big hit, as is happy hour here in general.
Cheap, delicious, and memorable, La Eufemia is also full of local artists and hippies, providing both a laid back vibe and a party vibe, depending on the crowd/music playing in the background. If it is too full to sit near the the eatery when you visit have no fear, there is plenty of sand to find a seat it. So dig your toes into the sand and dig in to the delicious food in front of you, this is one stop you won’t regret!
