Great food, excellent service, and breathtaking jungle scenery: that’s exactly what you will find when you visit Casa Jaguar, one of the most popular (and for really good reason) eateries around Tulum. Casa Jaguar is literally a restaurant/bar within a garden, the concept of this eatery being to draw guests in closer to the natural environment of the state, in this case, the jungle! This high-end, in both atmosphere and, at times cost, eatery features owner Diego Quintana’s passion for classic Oaxacan Mexican cuisine , creating a seriously scrumptious culinary scene. Find such things as oven pizza, fresh local fish, local ingredient-filled salads, and even some of the finest cocktails in the state!
Casa Jaguar brings the style and charm known around Tulum to your plate, each dish containing some of the freshest and most delicious Yucatan foods you’ll ever eat. Try the Tuna Tostada or Ceviche as you enjoy the ambiance of the inviting fire oven and classically beautiful rod iron doors, all of these small elements contrasting in the most pleasant way with the surrounding jungle scenery. Candles, plants, flowers, art, and even insect repellant will surround you while you eat in the spot that Your Little Black Book calls a ‘romantic french garden meets a hip Caribbean escape’. Be warned though, since this place is so popular it is oftentimes recommended by the local resorts and hotels, meaning the lines can get quite long at times (and at other times in off-seasons you may eat here alone!). Also note that this wooden-roof garden bar area can hold anywhere from up to 200 to 250 people at once, so don’t be afraid to bring your whole travel group!
