Gene Leahy Pedestrian Mall
The Gene Leahy Pedestrian Mall is a 10-acre public park located in the heart of Downtown Omaha, with the Old Market bordering one side and the Dale Clark Library on the other. This park is oftentimes referred to as 'Central Park' or 'The Mall'
This social hotspot is set against both historical and modern background, the landscape dotted with historic houses and soaring skyscrapers. Along the pathway itself, you will encounter lagoons, waterfalls, walking paths, gardens, playgrounds, and even an outdoor amphitheater used for summer concerts. Take some time to enjoy the sculpture garden, play some horseshoes, hike, or just people-watch while here, or just use it as a connecting point between popular attractions nearby (Heartland of America Park, Old Market, ConAgra, Dale Clark Library).
If you are lucky enough to be visiting during the Christmas season you can enjoy the thousands of twinkling lights of the Annual Holiday Lights Festival, a highly popular Nebraska spectacle.
