George W. Bush Presidential Center

Located in the hometown of former President Bush is the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Visit the museum exhibits to gain a better understanding of the presidency, learn about George W. Bush and his family, and explore the numerous collections of artifacts and documents.

Museum exhibits include artifacts such as pieces of steel from the World Trade Center, a full-size replica of the Oval Office, and several from the presidential archives. View a bullhorn from September 11, 2001, and an Oscar de la Renta worn by the former First Lady when she met Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles at a State Dinner. Exhibit topics focus on the reasons behind presidential decisions during crises, the tasks of the presidency, as well as a number of temporary special exhibits such as those curated for particular holidays.

The former president’s museum is located on a beautiful 15-acre urban park filled with sprawling meadows of Texas prairie grass and wildflowers. Explore the Texas Rose Garden or wander through the park for a lovely break from touring.

The Presidential Library is open upon request for those who wish to research the archives which include over 70 million pages of documents and books.

The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is open from 9-5 Mondays-Saturdays and from noon-5 pm on Sundays. The facility is closed on major federal holidays.
