A Chicago landmark since its inception in 1916, the Navy Pier is a one-stop destination for excitement, exploration, and relaxation. With 50 acres of attractions extending out over Lake Michigan, this pier has something for everyone and then some.
Amusement park rides including a 150 foot tall Ferris wheel and a 4,000 square foot Funhouse Maze are collected across the pier, offering classic fun for all ages. But the Navy Pier isn’t just another amusement park boardwalk. The Crystal Gardens, a six-story glass atrium, is home to lush gardens and over 80 live palm trees in the middle of the pier. The pier is also home to the Chicago Children’s Museum, the Shakespeare Theater, an IMAX, and the Landshark Beer Garden. Visit the Pepsi Skyline Stage to see concerts or other performances with incredible unobstructed views of the Chicago skyline.
Navy Pier, as a gathering place for groups and individuals, offers a delectable array of dining and shopping establishments. Fine dining and boardwalk food range in styles from American classics at Harry Caray’s Tavern to Italian, Chinese, and elegant seafood. Eat in style at Riva Crab House as you look over the lake or grab some takeout at the Big Bowl Chinese Express before you head back to the pier for more fun. Shopping boutiques and stores offer everything from collectibles, souvenirs, and traditional tourist memorabilia to apparel, jewelry, handbags, and more. The south dock of the pier, running east and west connecting to Navy Pier, has even more options for shopping and dining within walking distance.
