NASCAR Hall of Fame
If you enjoy racing or you want to learn more about the sport, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is the place to visit. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is located in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina next to the Charlotte Convention Center. The location is a high-tech venue that was designed to educate and entertain race fans as well as non-fans. The location is a 150,000 square foot interactive entertainment attraction. The NASCAR Hall of Fame has interactive exhibits, artifacts, and a state-of-the-art theater.
The places you won’t want to miss while you’re visiting include the Great Hall, Glory Road, Heritage Speedway and the newest attraction, Whelen Hall of Champions. When you arrive, your first stop should be the Great Hall which is a large greeting area that has rotating displays and lively video scenes and graphics.
Glory Road is a banked ramp simulating various race tracks. It showcases 18 historic cars and highlights 40 current and historic tracks. This exhibit is the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s premier and most iconic exhibit. It displays cars such as the 1952 Hudson, the 1957 Chevy, the 1961 Starliner, and the 1966 Galaxie. The 1952 Hudson was built and driven by Marshal Teague. Heritage Speedway is an area where guests can check out fascinating authentic artifacts and educational films that depict the story of NASCAR’s exciting six-decade history. The area also includes the Hall of Fame’s newest exhibit which is known as the Whelen Hall of Champions. The exhibit honors all national and regional champions from the 67-year history of NASCAR.
The Gear Shop at the Hall of Fame is a great place for visitors to find gifts and souvenirs. There are t-shirts, key chains, die-casts, videos, and books. You can also grab a bite to eat at the Pit Stop Café.
