Winslow Crocker House

Winslow Crocker House

A historic house in Yarmouth Port, the Winslow Crocker House is an open house museum popular with student groups.

This gorgeous setting and beautifully refurbished historic home was built in the late 18th century by a local trader and land speculator. As one of the more affluent residents of Cape Cod, the house is unusually opulent and affords a unique attraction. In the 20th century, the house passed to Mary Thatcher, who actually had the home moved six miles from its original location to where you'll find it today. The house was furnished to reflect the landscape, physical and historical, and still preserves the various eras represented including Jacobean, William and Mary, Queen Anne, and others. While you're touring, make sure to see some of the antiques like the tall case clock, the 17th-century chest of drawers, and the gorgeous antique dwarf clock.

The house, beautiful inside and out, is open for tours every second Saturday from June through October.
