Historic Downtown Branson

Historic Downtown Branson

Incorporated as a city in 1912, Branson started out as an idea of a resort town located in the historically rich Ozarks. Today it is widely recognized as one of the top U.S. cities for entertainment and this reaches well into the city’s historic district. Like Branson proper, Historic Downtown Branson offers all of the comfortable and exciting amenities with the preserved frontier aura of the city’s historic origins. A trolley runs through the district with set pick-up points so that you may plan your tour of the area without having to walk if you so choose. From the trolley, you may stop at attractions such as the Historic Owens Theatre or visit the Scenic Railway or perhaps peruse the diverse shopping. Boutiques, gift stores, flea markets, and themed shops are situated next to leather good stores, candy stores and bakeries, jewelry shops, and handmade goods that one may be hard pressed to find any other place.

When you smell the food on the air you may want to stop at one of the many wonderful restaurants to rest from your touring. Here you will find anything from a homey cafe to wine bars, Greek or Italian restaurants, traditional fine dining, or something simple and elegant such as tea rooms or coffee houses where you may rest your feet while looking over the antiques surrounding your table.

Downtown Branson includes several places to stay if you desire to be central to all of the historic attractions and also within minutes of modern Branson. Keeping with the frontier aura, there are themed bed and breakfasts and hotels fashioned in the 19th-century style. There are also hotels and resorts with all of the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable.

This is a wonderful place for the whole group with everything to see from a ghost tour to quilt shops, where everyone may find what they desire without compromise. Of course, the district is within minutes of Branson’s popular live shows and attractions, though once you come to the Historic Downtown area, you may find that everything you wanted is right in front of you.
