Best Burgers in Baltimore

With a longstanding history as a highly important seaport, the birthplace of our national anthem, and a crab shack paradise, Baltimore is certainly one of the hottest spots in America to visit.

There is another important factor contributing to why this city is so popular for tourists right now, though: BURGERS.

It may not be the first thing to come to mind when thinking of Baltimore, probably not even the second or third, but Baltimore is busting out a booming burger scene, and we think you need to jump on board! Here are the top burger joints throughout the city!

Abbey Burger Bistro

This spot is perhaps the most popular in the area, with arguably the very best of the best in the burger business. What's so special about Abbey's? They feature rotating exotic meats, such as antelope or spicy duck. They also have vegetarian and vegan options, and you can pretty much go crazy with their 'build a burger' option.

Baltimore Burger - Angus beef, crab dip, bacon, cheddar.
Exotic Meat Slider Trio - Whatever the seasonally rotating game is at the time, served in mini slider form.
Harry's Bistro Burger - Angus beef, sunny side up egg, applewood bacon, cheddar, English muffin bun.

Though technically considered a Mediterranian eatery, Twist Fells Point offers an excellent selection of burgers that we just can't pass up. From traditional Moroccan lamb sausage to the highly inventive (and delicious) grilled tomato and pimento goat cheese burger, this place is a must-try!

Burgers to Try:
Greek Burger - Topped with roasted tomatoes and greek olives
Mediterranean Lamb Burger - Feta Cheese, red onion, roasted tomato, and harissa cucumber yogurt sauce.

Shake Shack

This modern day “roadside” burger stand is a cross-country hit, with humble beginnings as a hot dog cart in NYC. Visit this old school burger, hot dog, and custard eatery and learn why these burgers are such a hit, coast to coast!

Hamilton Tavern

Considered to be a 'relaxed saloon setting', Hamilton Tavern serves up some of the best farm-to-table renditions of old pub traditions. There are actually only 2 burgers on the menu, but there are oftentimes house specials and burgers of the day, depending on the season and resources available.

Burgers to Try:
Crosstown Burger - Roseda Farm beef, shredded lettuce, red onion, horseradish cheddar, brioche bun. (Options to add 'sticky-spicy bacon' or fried egg).
Housemade Veggie Burger - Mixed greens, red onion, smoked tomato aioli, sesame brioche bun.
